Silent Moon

Silhouette
in the hazy morning
begins to fade
there is remembrance
of limitless joy
vanilla petals at the feet
warm rays on the face
staggering
the wishing tree
reaches out
saves me from slight
to crave the wrong
I lay upon the ground
upwards to take in
your life story
collapsing down
everything you took out
everyone you brought in
awakening flowers in December
that herald your passage

Influenced by listening to Mazzy Star.
Ohhh, that haunting voice from the 90’s!

Set in Stone

I write
to escape from the heartless world around me
I write
to step out of the indefinite shadow
I write
to show you how the world could be so different
I write
while I dream about bringing you home

I write
to elevate you out of your isolation
I write
so you notice I am more than words
I write
to reveal the truth and circumvention
I write
in the hope I’ll have you alone

I write
about all your pleasant features
I write
to let you know apprehension is just human
I write
so you feel all the sentiment I am releasing
I write
because there is nothing set in stone.

Inspired by the melodic chorus to a song called Drive by Assemblage 23. Look it up and sing it. You’ll find it infectious. Try changing “I write” to “I sing” and sing the tune!

Why do you write?

inescapable

tell me what you get high on
what you love about the afterglow
how it thrills
what makes you shiver
tell it to me again, again, and again

show me how you smile
whisper some hopeful treasure
how it allures
sing your personality
tell it to me again, again, and again

tell me what you get high on
how you season the days
what you imagine romance is made of
tell it to me again, again, and again

show me how you smile
be it undressed or beautiful
dream us breathless and inescapable
tell it to me again, again, and again

c. gandy – the long blue sky version

This was born out of a short poem I wrote as seen below. Then, I decided to transform it into a song poem with reinforcement.

Le Chevalier

she was lost inside a castle.
her hopes bound to the stone.
love was ghosting in her heart.
teardrops collect on the floor
holding onto her visions.
long yellows shimmer a cold dim
before the air turned to gray.
breaks were forming in the sour kingdom.

she believed in heroes.
she believed in heroes.

daylight arrived with a rush of fury.
the sky defiant in crimson.
sentries launch blue arrows
that fall in silence.
they met in the courtyard
all her stories washed like waves
never to look backward.
the intertwine of fingers
takes away all the pain.
trust in the adventure
as they cling to alchemy.

she believed in heroes.
she believed in heroes.

Singing Sad Songs

I was standing by the ocean
looking down at the sand.
I didn’t see you come.
I didn’t see you go.
The waves were crashing hard
as my lungs roared with strife.
Backwash swept away your prints.
My impression gone to waste.

There would be no more encounters.
Destiny had lost her hand.
Even if I begged the gods
and gave up all I know.
The torment was eternal
as I tried to give you life.
The path was just way too long.
I lost you to my haste.

A little inspiration from the tragedy of Orpheus and Eurydice.

Perfect Moment

tingled
glances capture
sugar heart confections
irresistible fusion
blended
tranquility of attachment
serenade like a kitten
lullaby purrs
endless

Pun intended! The last of three cinquains in my Fire Wild Series.

Happy Valentines Day!

A Poet’s Love

the breath
of poet’s love
whispers magical fate.
blossoms come forth with emotion.
untouched.
in suspense of a pure caress.
inhaling adventure.
hush. dry with truth.
on fire.

This poem is dedicated to my #musingbeauty, Diana.

When Diana and I first met, I wrote her a poem to soothe her soul. We lost contact for some time. We recently reconnected so I was instantly inspired to write another poem for her. After all, she is my muse.  She was asleep for awhile and now she has awakened. Hence #musingbeauty.

Diana’s website recently turned four years old.  I wish her success with all her journeys.

This post can also be found on my Instagram account.

Do you have a muse? If so, write something for him/her and please share on Instagram under the above mentioned hashtag.
