Recognize (What’s Inside)

My emotion like the morning frost
Burning innocent ground below.
I came to know the meager cost
To amend and let it go.

I danced around the fringe of life
Waiting for its benevolence.
I saw so much joy in strife
And gifts had no resonance.

Chorus:
Don’t you live your life with cold regrets
And steer from the zest of love
Just to grab as much as you could get
To not ever make use of

Found my bearing at the rocky heights
Where tired convictions reconcile.
Tears shed my grays into light.
Made the hurting all worthwhile.

I will bear all my errant beliefs.
Let them come to rest on their own.
I can’t expect to be given relief
As my false blood lets onto stone.

(Repeat Chorus)

Recognize.
Recognize.
Recognize what’s inside.

Pan of the Crows

Crow_Moon2

Pan of the Crows

Let me take you to the end of the world
To the edge of a bottomless pit
We can cast aside our humanity
A kind of wickedness to commit
Then go soaring down the path of evil
A tempt of fate around every turn
We can alter the course of our destiny
The craft of soul-taking to be earned

Don’t you turn around and quit
They can’t judge you anymore
Understand the warmth of it
Pleasure of a dark spirit

Take to the air and size up our prey
Pick on the bones of the upper crust
Critters and vermin the starter snack
Before a banquet of human lust
Mob all rivals to protect the border
Know the division of true and vile
Robbing and raiding the daily plan
Dressed in the black of Victorian style

Don’t you turn around and quit
They can’t judge you anymore
Understand the warmth of it
Pleasure of a dark spirit

Don’t you fear the still of night
Tolerate the shame of war
Witness gloom amid the light
Comfort of an untamed plight
Holding back just makes it hurt
You can’t stop the shadow’s will
The murder grows to cheat the moon

This was this first song poem I had written. It contains factual habits of crows. This is a prelude to featuring my very first short story  I wrote a few years ago.  The story was influenced by reading too many Stephen King novels.

Let’s Spend Tonight

Magnetic vibe

is in the air.

Lifting the senses.

An animal flow.

Contagious emotions

over the line.

A long to-do list

in a world

filled

with fields of fun.

No thought

of playing

for keeps this time.

Trust in each other.

Lie beside

for a moment

when all the planets align.

Let’s spend tonight

out on the road

an amber moon so high above.

Leave the scorecard on the green.

We could ride a big wave

and go dance on the sand.

Feel a bit lucky

on a quick game of chance.

Let’s do it all.

Wander about like rolling stones.

One just for fun.

I Stand Up

I look back at all the years gone by

I can’t believe I’ve wasted this time

I watch the children grow old

All the memories fade

I point the finger right back at myself

I stand up

To aggression and hate

How alone does it feel to be at the top?

To the mongers of fear and the end of all days

I represent the hope and the will to survive

I stand up

I’m not going to stop

Until I see you through

Rid the world of this wrath

I stand up

For all those deceived

By the headlines meant to keep the people at rest

The hand shaker by day

The ego by night

Your benevolence is best left at the costume ball

I stand up!

It don’t take much to think this all through

To spread the word when the word is the truth

You think you’re in control

A savior to the world

But it’s so much bigger than you can believe

I stand up

I’m not going to stop

Until I see you through

Rid the world of this wrath

To the mongers of fear and the end of all days

I represent the hope and the will to survive

For the transparent lie a token of proof

Paid at the door into the abyss of neglect

I stand up

I’m not going to stop

Until I see you through

Rid the world of this wrath

Love’s Flight

I keep forever that moment

when you came running after me.

Eyes filled with the hope of love.

It was an overcast day.

We talked of truth and aspirations.

Flattery got you nowhere.

I wanted to go out for a whirl

but something was holding me back.

You made it so obvious.

Told me what you wanted.

I didn’t even recognize.

Gave you nothing in return.

You made it so obvious.

Drifted from the issue at hand.

The situation you presented

put a spark right into my life.

Genuine words to think through.

An adventure for both of us to explore.

I’ve always been so solitary.

Lost belief in the chase.

Your devotion like an elixir.

A transfusion of hope.

Our rendezvous went go steady.

No secrets need to be kept.

Years apart, we know how to be young.

The autumn leaves color my heart.

Fortunes beyond the earthly.

Building a tradition for two.

You will be so exceptional.

Today, I found what I deserve.

You made it so obvious.

Told me what you wanted.

I didn’t even recognize.

Gave you nothing in return.

Now our love soars so high.

We can’t deny.

I’m Found

I sit and wonder

What could happen

Gazing inward at my soul.

It’s a quest

Not for the faint-hearted.

I’m here to leave my mark.

If I could make

Everyone feel happy.

Oh, what an emotional rush.

The true value

Of my potential

Like a diamond in the rough.

I’m getting close to my destiny.

Determined to stand my ground.

I set aside counteractive thoughts.

Now, look what I’ve become.

Set on a journey

To find the power.

Not one that is absolute.

It is meant

For inspiration.

Fill my life with self-esteem.

When I have left

The room so brightened

Will I return to the same morale?

There’s no price to pay

For kindness

Except the noise of reverie.

I’m getting close to my destiny.

Determined to stand my ground.

I set aside counteractive thoughts.

Now, look what I’ve become.

The continuous cycle

Of our deep hidden greatness

Will just  fall apart

If we don’t sacrifice.

As each day goes by

I get undaunted.

But most of all

I’m found.

I’m found.

I’m found.

The Best Is Yet To Come

Sometimes life is revealing.

The future locked behind a door.

Won’t you walk it with me.

Assurance. The best is yet to come.

When the day gives in to night fall

we aim our sights up to the stars.

Nothing holds us from our testimony.

We avow to withstand it all.

Essential adoration.

Every day

a treasure first revealed.

Show me your excitement.

My contessa

this is our fairy tale.

When we stray we’re never finished

because our story ends up fine.

I’ll meet you in the hall of mirrors

always knowing that you’re mine.

Heartbeats accelerating.

Never lost without a sense of time.

Won’t you live it with me.

Confidence. The best is yet to come.

When we stray we’re never finished

because our story ends up fine.

I’ll meet you in the hall of mirrors

always knowing that you’re mine.
